Tracked short links

Every PDF you upload gets a clean, brandable, copy-pasteable URL like tryrecon.app/v/abc12xyz. Send it via email, Slack, LinkedIn, anywhere. Every open is tracked.

How it works: An 8-character nanoid generates the slug. Collision-checked, URL-safe (no 0/O/1/l ambiguity). Copy-paste-friendly.

Email gate

Optionally require an email address before the document can be viewed. The viewer enters their email, you instantly know exactly who's reading.

How it works: A modal blocks the viewer until a valid email is entered. The email becomes the visitor's identity for all future sessions on that link.
Use cases: Lead capture (every brochure becomes a form). Identity verification (know exactly who downloaded). Audit trail (compliance-friendly).

In-doc Q&A chat

A discreet sidebar in the viewer lets the visitor ask questions without leaving the document. You get notified instantly via email + Slack. Reply from your inbox. The visitor sees your answer in real time, in the same sidebar.

How it works: A floating chat button bottom-right. Questions are posted to a Postgres RPC, an edge function notifies the owner, your reply is delivered via Supabase Realtime to the visitor's open session.
Why it matters: Every question is a buying signal. Capturing them inside the doc = less friction = more questions = better data on objections.

Bulk Send

Upload one PDF, paste a list of emails (or a CSV), and we generate a unique tracked link per recipient in 30 seconds. Each open is isolated, scored individually, attributed to the right person.

Mobile-responsive viewer

The PDF viewer adapts to any screen — phone, tablet, desktop. Pages render at the right zoom, navigation is thumb-friendly, the chat sidebar slides in cleanly on mobile.

"Powered by" pill (GDPR transparency)

A small pill at the bottom of the viewer reads "Powered by Recon — this view is being tracked." Discreet but visible. Required for GDPR transparency and good karma.

Why it matters: Stealth tracking is legally risky in the EU. The pill keeps you compliant without screaming "you're being watched" at every visitor.
